Sebastian Montoya, son of Formula 1 race winner Juan Pablo Montoya, made his single-seater debut in the Italian F4 Championship in 2020 driving for Prema Powerteam. He finished the year in 11th in the standings. Montoya remained with Prema for 2022 for the Italian series, he scored nine podiums which led him to finish 4th in the standings. 

For 2022, Montoya debuted in the Formula Regional Asian Championship. He scored his first car racing win during the first race of the season. He took another win that season but was unable to finish the season so finished the year in 7th. Also in 2022, Montoya moved up to the Formula Regional European Championship. He took two 8th places and a 4th place in the opening three races and finished the year in 13th. Montoya made his first F3 appearance at the 2022 Zandvoort round replacing Oliver Goethe. The Colombian driver finished the race in 8th and was the only Campos driver to score points that weekend. For 2023, Montoya will move into F3 full time to drive for Hitech Grand Prix.
